The Ocean Race Summit

#1 Genoa

20 September

Centro Congressi, Porto Antico, Genoa, Italy

The Ocean Race has launched a new series of 11 Summits

Why a Summit?

The ocean is our racetrack – and we’re passionate about using our global platform to bring together key decision makers and influencers from the worlds of sport, sustainability, politics, business, academia and science at The Ocean Race Summits, a series of international events, to take action to restore ocean health.

The first groundbreaking summit takes place in the city of Genoa, Italy’s largest sea port, boasting a rich maritime history. We will gather the most relevant experts and leaders under one roof, providing a premium opportunity to be at the forefront of cutting-edge discussions alongside a network of solutions-orientated thinkers.

The Ocean Race Summit forms part of our ‘Racing with Purpose’ initiative, in collaboration with Premier Partner, 11th Hour Racing and Partner of the Race, Bluewater, providing a forum for action focused discussions with the aim of driving change on the most pressing issues affecting our oceans.

So whatever your background and interests, come along and be inspired to integrate with our community of ocean advocates on this journey to deliver action and positive change!

On board with the race sailors

World renowned professional athletes who took part in the last edition of the race, will provide a unique perspective on the ocean health crisis and their experiences of this crucial issue in some of the remotest seas on earth.

Italian Olympic and offshore sailor Francesca Clapcich, who sailed on board Turn the Tide on Plastic in the last edition, and US Ocean Race veteran Mark Towill will offer first-hand experience of the effect plastic pollution is having on our seas and reveal efforts the sport is making to reduce its environmental impact.
